Born and bred Louisiana girl here. My whole childhood was basically a front-row seat to the kitchen circus. I’m talking stoves blaring, cornbread perfume in the air, and gossip hotter than the gumbo. Our kitchen was the living room—no walls, no boundaries, just family and food fusing together.
If I’m honest (and why not?), my mom and aunt? Absolute legends. They could whip up magic with whatever was left in the fridge—like, “Oh, we’ve got half an onion and a wish? No problem, dinner’s served.” It was never just about recipes. Their cooking was a whole love language. “You look tired, eat this.” “Rough day? Here, have seconds.” Healing, straight from the pot.
Then I grew up (well, technically), got a little rebellious, and started going off-script. Chasing down weird spices, mixing stuff like a mad scientist, trying to crack that code between “good for you” and “can’t-stop-eating-this.” What was a hobby morphed into a full-blown obsession, and look at me now—blogging like my life depends on it.
